What Shared Care means for you
Shared Care is when your GP and our specialist team look after your ADHD medication together. Your GP prescribes it, and we keep checking it’s working for you.
Trusted by GPs across England

How Shared Care works
Once you’ve been on the same medication and dose for eight weeks, we can ask your GP to take over prescribing. It’s their decision whether to accept. If they don’t, we’ll keep prescribing and supporting you.
How Shared Care applies to you

Private patients
You’ll pay the standard NHS prescription charge, or nothing if you’re exempt, instead of private prices.

Right to Choose patients
Your costs stay the same. Your prescriptions simply move from Noodle to your own GP.

Ongoing reviews
We keep reviewing your medication: every year for adults, every six months for those under 18.

Joined-up care
We work to one clear plan with you and your GP, with clinical advice provided between reviews.

Your stories

'Medication hasn't made me superhuman. But it's given me the tools to actually do the things I want or need to do. I still find it hard to get out of bed some mornings. But taking my medication first gives me the momentum to shower, brush my teeth and even get through the things I've been putting off for weeks.'
Your questions, answered
When can Shared Care be proposed?
Once you've been on the same ADHD medication and dose for 8 weeks, we can ask your GP to take over prescribing under Shared Care. It's up to the GP whether they accept.
Can I access medication through Shared Care if I was assessed privately?
Yes, we can send a Shared Care Agreement to your GP at the end of private titration if you request this. Though it depends on your GP decision and the NHS policies in your area whether this is accepted.
What if my GP refuses Shared Care?
We understand that it can be disappointing if a GP practice decides not to enter into a Shared Care agreement. For guidance on next steps, please see our Help Centre.
Do I have to set up Shared Care?
No. Whether you’ve recently been diagnosed or have already started treatment, we’ll help you understand your options and whether Shared Care is right for you.
